The Street department provides many of the services that you as residents of the City expect but don't think too much about. This division of the City is responsible for collecting garbage and recycling, caring for Fountain Grove Cemetery, cleaning and maintaining the streets and keeping them clear of ice and snow, collecting leaves in the fall, and storm and sewer maintenance.
Garbage Collection
The City of Bryan provides garbage collection for the residents. The garbage should be placed in City of Bryan garbage bags. These garbage bags are provided once a year to all City of Bryan residents. If you need more garbage bags, you may purchase them at the City Clerk's Office for a nominal fee. All garbage should be placed at the curb by 7:00A.M. on you garbage day pickup.
Big Trash Day
Once a month the City of Bryan offers a big trash day pickup, All items should be placed next to the curb by 7:00A.M. Loose items should be place in a non-reusable container. EVERYTHING placed on the curb will be picked up. Trash needs to be separated into piles (wood piles, trash piles, and metal piles). Commercial or contractor generated trash will not be picked up. If the scheduled monthly trash pickup falls on a holiday, it will be picked up the proceeding workday.

Fall Leaf Collection
The City of Bryan provides a leaf collection in the Fall of the year. On curbed streets leaves need to be in the gutter the day of your pickup, non-curbed streets leaves need to be raked to the edge of the street. Leaf pickup is the same day as your garbage pickup. In the Spring, leaves need to be taken to Recycling by you for the compost pile.
Snow Removal
The City of Bryan Street Dept. can move some snow!!!! We are one of the best equipped Cities around for this job. We have 7 large Dump Trucks with plows, 2 Salt Trucks with plows, 2 Front End Loaders ( One with a plow and one with a bucket to pile the snow ), 1 smaller 1 Ton Dump Truck with a plow and a Grader that Plows. On a 3"-6" snow we can have every Street and Parking Lot in town plowed in 4 hours. With another hour alleys will be open too.
Remember - Our biggest slow down is parked cars!
